Fair Hills Resort

Owned by the same family since 1926, this seasonal resort fronting Pelican Lake is opposite the Wildflower Golf Course, and is 14 miles from downtown Detroit Lakes. Bare-bones 1- to 4-bedroom cabins come with linens, towels and private bathrooms, and most have ceiling fans, tables and chairs. Some offer fully equipped kitchens. Air-conditioners are available for a fee. In addition to weekly talent shows and hootenannies, amenities include free meals in the on-site restaurant, lobby WiFi, and an outdoor pool and a hot tub. There’s also a TV room, indoor/outdoor games, water-based sports, and a 9-hole golf course. Minimum-stay rules may apply.
